The Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorder Society (PDMDS), is registered under the Bombay Public Trust Act of 1950, the Society Registration Act of 1860 and under the Foreign Contributions Regulation Act for receipt of foreign donations. Monetary donations are tax exempt under Section 80G Income Tax 1961 of the Indian Tax Laws. The PDMDS is a charitable organization striving to improve the quality of life of People with Parkinson’s (PwPs) in India.
Many PwPs have no access to treatment and rehabilitation services, firstly, due to their limited availability and secondly, due to the high cost of the limited available services, thereby, impacting their quality of life. Through the Patient Welfare Fund we offer free medication and assistive devices to PwPs who cannot afford it. We also provide physiotherapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy and counselling to patients across the city of Mumbai free of cost.
For all these activities we are in need of funds. We look forward to your support to help us reach out to more PwPs in need and take the activities to other locations within this vast country.
