The B. K. Parekh Patient Welfare Program was started in 2013 in memory of its namesake, Mr. B. K. Parekh, who was himself a Person with Parkinson’s. In his memory & upon his passing away in 2013, the Parekh and Pidilite group took up the cause which was close to Mr. B.K. Parekh’s heart.

The kind family of Mr. Parekh who also happen to be the people behind Pidilite industries extended their support to PDMDS through this fund which has been set up for the cause of Parkinson’s and people suffering from it.

The beneficiaries of this fund are the lesser privileged and chronically disabled PwPs, who receive the benefits of this fund through free medication, assistive devices and aids, and professional home visits.

This collaboration between PDMDS & Pidilite industries has seen the very successful setting up of two support centres, which are thriving:

  • Bhavnagar, Gujarat in August, 2013
  • Pune, Maharashtra in March, 2014

The hope is for this to serve as a paradigm for future such partnerships.
